The Assembly recognizes the importance of enhancing security within our communities and it is on the back of this that this initiative has been introduced, he reiterated.

Improving security within the municipality is one of the priorities of this government and we as an Assembly is ready to support in that direction, the MCE continued.

He admonished the personnel to desist from engaging in any deviant behaviour that will hinder trust between the community and security personnel.

District Commanders from both the Police and Fire Service took turns to advise the personnel. They advised them to put up best behaviour always and be punctual so they can be recommended for onward recruitment into the mainstream security services. They also cautioned them to desist from indulging in illegal activities such as pocketing illicit drugs meant as evidence and becoming middle men in drug trade.

The Community Police and Fire Assistants put up a wonderful display on what they had been taught during training.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty. A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people. The cost of freedom is always high"
